If you have a tooth knocked out, chipped, cracked, broken, etc., and there are no other injuries to the body or excessive bleeding, your dentist can set a time for you to come in.
Issues such as infections, swelling, and abscesses can cause serious damage if you delay getting treatment.
A cracked tooth can happen for a number of reasons such as:
- Grinding teeth
- Clenching teeth
- Hard foods
- Using your teeth as a tool, such as opening a bottle
- Impact on the face
Fallen Out Tooth
If your tooth gets knocked out, please use the following steps:
- Gently rinse the tooth to remove any dirt or debris, do not scrub the tooth
- Keep the tooth moist by placing it in a glass of milk, or if you can, gently put it back into the socket, or keep it in your mouth between your jaw and cheek
- Place cloth on the wound to control the bleeding
